Final Results!

So today I got my final results from my three years at University and I got a 2:1 which I am so happy with. The three years hard work finally paid off :-)

I'll be looking for work within a marketing or buying role as these were the modules I most enjoyed from University.

So now it's some hardcore job searching. While I am looking for work I'll be working at Telford hospital full time, this is a job which I have gone back to when I'm not at Uni for example over the Summer and Christmas.

Beacon Radio Walk

Today I completed a the 10 mile Beacon Radio walk for charity. Beacon Radio is a local radio station who put together the charity event in aid of Promise Dreams who are a charity supporting children with terminally ill children and their families.

The walk was from Himley Hall to Dunstall Park Race course. I completed it in just under two hours and I think I will feel the consequences of it tomorrow. It was a good day and the rain held off which was good. So far over £100,000 has been raised for the charity.

New Buys

I went shopping to Telford today to have a look around, I like Telford shopping centre as there are a variety of shops all under one roof and it isn't too far away.

I purchased several items, the bag I have wanted for a while since seeing it in Look magazine and finally it came into store, so snapped it up straight away as when I went back later they had all sold out, phew!
The top I purchased as I thought it would go nice against my white blazer against gold chunky jewellery.
Finally the dress was a spur of the moment purchase but I tried it on and it looked really good and suited my shape, just hope the weather improves so I get to wear it :)

Bag: Primark

Top: Primark

Dress : H & M

BIAD Show - Other Courses

Yesterday as well as attending University to attend the Fashion Retail Management show I also went to view the other courses shows from the campus.

Courses such as Fashion design, Photogrpahy, Illustration and Theatre Design showcased their works. I found all the shows interesting and inspiring. I had never taken much interest in other courses until today but some of the work was excellent especially fashion design how showcased at Graduate Fashion Week last week.

Map detailing where exhibitions are held.

Some of my favourite work can be seen below along with a link to websites and blog, check them out, it is really interesting to see works as well as finding out about the person behind the creations.

Business Cards I collected.

BIAD Final Show and Goodbyes!

Today was one of the last days at University. :-( The BIAD show is a chance for industry contacts as well as family and friends to come and see the show. A lot of business cards had been taken from my stand so hopefully people have found my concept interesting.

In the evening we had a final presentation from our lecturers and awards were given out for high achievers. Overall it was a sad day as I will not see alot of people from my course again but I will have fond memories I will keep forever.

Nail Art Time

After my Nailed it Post I decided to have a go at doing some Nail Art of my own. As I am a novice at this I decied to do something simple as you can see below. The contrasting colours look great and really Summery.

I created this look by painting my nails all orange (Barry M colour 318) then painting a blue line across the top (Asda nail varnish)  to give a twist to the traditional French manicure. It took a few attempts to get right but the overall result look great.

Maxi Dresses

I love maxi dresses, I find they keep me cool in the weather but also look great at the same time. They can be dressed down with flats or glammed up with jewellery and darmatic makeup for the evening. Here are a few of my favourites I have seen recently.

Dress from River Island - I have tried to purchase this but is sold out everywhere :(

Above dress from Warehouse at ASOS - love the backless detail.
Dress from BooHoo.com the ditsy print looks cute and will be great for the daytime.

Jewellery Loves!

I was reading my latest More magazine today and found an article about Maggie and Angus Jewellery. Intrigued to find out more I checked out the website. I love wearing necklaces and think they can change the outlook of an outfit.

Maggie and Angus sell a range of accessories and are trend based, from animal print necklaces, to fruit inspired pieces - very on trend at the moment!

I love these necklaces below and may treat myself at the end of this week to celebrate finishing university.

This necklace has been seen on singer of the moment Jessie J.

I love this vintage dress necklace.

Very on trend

BIAD Show Set Up

Thursday and Friday this week I have been at University setting up my section for the BIAD show, which is the final show at University showcasing all my work.

The set up initally included an A0 sized poster and two half A1 posters. I enjoyed setting it up as it allowed to me to feature what I thought were the most important aspects of the project and give people visiting the exhibition a clear description straight away.

Final shot of my A0 poster, giving information about my project.

The shelf which will showcase my dissertation, press release, C.V, Business Cards and Photo album of my creative work.

Above: My two half A1 posters.

When I initally handed in my creative work to support my dissertation, the work was presented on A1 boards, when laying out my shelf on Thursday I quickly discovered that I wouls not be able to showcase my work properly. I felt that I had worked hard on the Promotional work so decided to convert all my work into JPEG format then print out the work as photographs and place them in an album. This was a better idea as its quick and easy to look through and tells a story of my brand, from the range, to promotional work.

Examples of photographs taken from creative work.

Work placed on the floor showcased work I was unable to convert into JPEG format, and shows how the brand would be showcased in stores.

Final Views on my work presented on the stand.

They were lovely people who have become firm friends of mine, they also helped alot with my final project which I can't thank them enough for.

I regularly follow their blog which has great beauty news, and product information on it. I love reading it.

From Istituto Marangoni Fashion School. I loved most of the collections, I have taken my favourites from the show book.

The show book.

Elisabetta Oberto - Inspired by the bond between men and earth.

Le Yen Mai - Collection concept is two different garments taken apart then assembled together.

Christina Economou - Influenced by Greek and Irish cultures.

The Makeup

I love this look below taken from the show book, the look was created by artist Marcelo Oliveira. The natural face makeup in contrast to the dramatic eye makeup looks stunning.
